- Hands-on familiarization with competition welding equipment, focusing on capabilities, setup, and best-use practices.
- Welding skills evaluation aligned with current WorldSkills standards and performance expectations.
- Targeted practice on representative test plates, pipe welds, and fillet weld configurations to reinforce technique and consistency.
- Individualized development planning based on assessment results, with focused coaching to accelerate improvement.
The course is led by Ray Connolly — 1999 WorldSkills Gold Medalist (Montreal, Canada) and current Skills Chief Expert — alongside Branden Muehlbrandt — 1995 WorldSkills Silver Medalist (Lyon, France) and Lincoln Electric WorldSkills Technical Advisor.
The program includes instructor insights and practical techniques, on-site meals, and a Lincoln Electric gear package — including a welding helmet — for participants to take home.
