OVERVIEW
11th Conference on TWR+AM
TWR+AM TODAY
We invite you to join us at the 2026 TWR+AM conference to present your research and engage with leading researchers, scientists, and engineers from across the globe.
Electronic Proceedings
Following the conference, electronic proceedings will be published as short papers, each assigned an individual DOI numbers. Submission of papers is encouraged but not required for presenters.
HISTORY OF TWR CONFERENCES
Founded by Dr. Stan David of Oak Ridge National Laboratory
The Trends in Welding Research (TWR) conferences involve a series of prestigious international events with origins dating back to the late 1970s. Founded and continuously led by Dr. Stan David of Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), TWR is traditionally convened every three to four years. The conference brings together preeminent experts in welding science and research, fostering a collegial and collaborative atmosphere for scientific exchange.
Renowned for its role in facilitating high-level technical discourse and professional networking, the TWR conferences were highly respected within the field. While the 2022 version was notably constrained by the challenges posed by COVID, the forthcoming event will introduce an expanded focus on Additive Manufacturing (AM), as reflected in the revised conference acronym.
Consistent with previous & "Trends" conferences, the 2026 symposium will highlight the latest advancements in welding, joining, and additive manufacturing research.
